Ever missed the chance to pick up a gift in time and thought, “I’ll just give them money”?
Yeah, money is nice. But sometimes giving plain money just doesn’t feel special enough.
That’s what happened with my grandson’s birthday. I hadn’t gotten a gift in time, so I thought, “I’ll just Cash App his mom some money.” But then I thought—what will that even mean to him?
He loves games, learning, and thoughtful gestures. So why not make giving him money an experience?
That’s when I came up with Celebration Quest—a game with personal questions, a secret word, and a big reveal: a money gift from Lala Chicky—his grandma—with instructions on how to get it.
And when I say he loved it—he loved it more than I ever imagined. He loved getting the answers right. He loved that it was his own game, with his name, his experiences, and even a personalized emoji of something he loved. And he loved scratching the screen to reveal his prize.
And that’s where the other games came in…
Then I thought, what about a gift that’s just not there in time? Maybe it’s already on the way. Why can’t we reveal that through a game too? Give them something to enjoy right now, while their present is coming.
And so the Gift Hunt was born—an arcade-style game where they move around, open boxes, and discover their surprises.
Then I thought, this is too cool to be just for kids. Let’s make an adult version. And voilà—After Hours Quest.
So that’s QRtesy Play. A fun way to reveal whatever you want to reveal.
That’s it. That’s the idea!
